Mandarmani- an escape to serenity

Who doesn't like to enjoy a peaceful day on a beach? Some beer, some seafood, the sea and the perfect company! Yes that's how we spent our last weekend and it was exactly what we needed after months of hectic work schedule.
Mandarmani is a small village in the outskirts of kolkata and also, is the nearest beach for the city dwellers.
We left early morning around 7 a.m to start the 190km drive.
Petrol? ✅
Tyres? ✅
Car documents? ✅
Journey snacks? ✅✅✅
It was my first time driving that long distance all by myself so I was extra careful with everything. After a 5 hour drive ( yes! I am a slow driver), crossing through some bad traffic and the last 5km stretch of rocky roads, we finally reached our resort.
Llyods Beach Resort is a beach front hotel where you actually have to drive on the beach to reach. It's a newly constructed property (barely 30 days old) overlooking the mighty Bay of Bengal.

We ordered some delicious chilli crab and prawns for lunch. The crustaceans were as fresh as they come.
In the evening, we went to mandarmani beach (right in front of the resort) for a nice stroll by the sea. The water was calm, the beach was less crowded and comparatively cleaner than most of the beaches in Eastern India. The sand was soft as pashmina and chocolaty in colour. We came back after some time after taking some brilliant pictures to enjoy the beautiful sunset overlooking the sea from our resort with the company of our dear old friend Budweiser.
We started the next day with some complimentary breakfast,  the good old "Luchi Torkari" (traditional bengali dish).
Outside the resort, were some small shacks on the beach. They serve you varieties or sea food, beer, coconut water, tea etc. and also offer you some foot/head/shoulder massages for a mere Rs.100 for each massage.
Food, massage,  swimming and photo sessions, that's all we did on our day of leisure.
It was a perfect weekend,  very peaceful and relaxing. Although, I just didn't take back beautiful memories from this trip but a few extra pounds too. 😄
