The unexpected landscape
We went to the Tiger hill much before the dawn with the hopes of catching the glimpse of the mighty Kanchenjunga. But to our surprise we found that the best spots were already taken and it was a hefty crowd , we saw people shaking in that freezing cold and covering their faces and mouths with their hands more to keep them warm and not for the lurking fear of the dying second wave of Coronavirus. But I firmly believe that in the mountains luck plays a major role in sighting anything with snow. And the snow gods weren't happy at us for some reason and a thick layer of cloud came over and covered the entire sky and there went our hopes of sighting Kanchenjunga.
But you know as they say, hope is what keeps us alive and we saw that in the crowd there as noone moved from their position still hoping that they can see the peak soon. Unable to get a good spot we started looking around the area and we noticed that we can see the entire 360 degrees around us and suddenly I saw the first rays of light touching the forests at an angle where no one was looking. It was a serene sight and as a reflex my hands straightway went for the camera to capture this beautiful landscape where the eroded soil gave an impression of a waterfall moving like a reptile from the forest.
We were happy that we got something out there and I will always remember to look around for life can give you gifts from unexpected sources.
" Some other day " I murmured to Mt. Kanchenjunga and left.
